How many lakes are in Hlticks Plateau?

Well, there are more than five lakes but the two lakes are beautiful and famous in this region. These lakes have their own specific names and characteristics.

  1. Chogo Xo (Big Lake)

  2. Khola Xo (Brown Lake)

The said lakes are very large in size and eye-catching. Particularly, The Chogo Xo (Big Lake) is very beautiful.

These lakes are unique because both sides of the lakes are covered with glaciers which make them unique from other lakes located in Gilgit Baltistan.

This plateau has not only lakes but also minerals of large glaciers and wild animals, particularly brown bears, deer’s and markhor as well.

The fisheries department of Gilgit Baltistan visited here nearly five years ago and they showed their interest in breeding the trout fishes in these huge lakes.
