On the way from Gilgit to Skardu, there is a bridge named (Shot Bridge) just before the Dambodas Village. The Bilamik Valley is a vast and sprawling area. It is a lush green area, rich in natural springs and waterfalls, consisting of about 20 small and large villages, with Harpoh Valley in the north, Astor Valley in the south, Talo Broq in the west and Basho is located a few glaciers to the east.

Crystal water will be seen flowing in the streams and valleys of the Bilamik Valley. This clear water shines like the moon in its purity, sweetness and color. When the sun’s rays fall on the trees, the valley looks beautiful.

Facilities in Bilamik Valley

Due to a lack of facilities, this valley is still hidden from the eyes of domestic and foreign tourists. This region is still deprived of high schools and other educational facilities. There is only one middle school, one primary boys ‘school and two primary girls’ schools for about 1500 students.

There are no medical facilities. Most of the time one has to travel several kilometers to Dambodas or Skardu City for medical checkup, which is utter cruelty and injustice in view of the present advanced age.

Source of income

The source of livelihood of the people is considered to be farming. Potatoes are the most exported vegetable from this are to other regions of Baltistan and Pakistan. Wheat, barley and other commodities are also cultivated.
